MBSW: The Grand Finale.

MLSW: The Bling.

Bridesmaids are wearing black dresses so that makes the accessorizing a playground of sparkles & shine. Oh yea. We spent way too much money [thank goodness for gift cards] @ the 21 today and bought all the bling. 

Three of the six BM dresses have a bow on the front, so we figured we'd skip a necklace on these and spruce up their gorgeous arms with some bangle fun.

Two of the six dresses are strapless and no bow so we went with a longer necklace to lengthen their "line".

And then of course everyone gets ring bling. Rings are my favorite part of dressing up. I'm so glad costume jewelry came back with a vengeance. There are so many options everywhere you go! Here are some potential winners. 

The rabbit one on the end is what my sister is wearing for her engagement shoot. Very Alice in Wonderlandy eh? 


My jewelry has yet to be discovered, but I finally have my dress! Pics coming soon. It was only $34 @ the 21. Love that place!

MBSW: Centerpieces Extraordinaire.

The wedding is 3{ish} months away...and counting. We all busy as bees around here. Writing, making, planning, brainstorming, throwing out. haha. 


Last week we went to a dress fitting for my brother's fiance [who is practically part of the family and has been since high school] and I just about died when she put on her dress. It was gorgeous. Then, coincidentally, my baby sister's dress had come in so she tried hers on too and I was in tears. Two siblings getting married within {3} months of each other! It's exciting times here let me tell you. 

Today's MBSW piece is on the dreaded but crucial ::centerpieces:: 

I remember this was the hardest part about planning my wedding. Deciding what exactly you want to put in the spot that your guest will spend the majority of their time and attention [except for on the bride of course]. 


My sis is finding that is drawn to the tea-party aspect of this wonderful tale. We've been collecting vintage tea cups from the local thrift stores and finding some amazing treasures! The main colors are navy and antique blue with greens as the accents. Sophisticated. 

So if you have any ideas or suggestions of where we could get more tea cups, we need ALOT.

{My Little Sister's Wedding} Dresses...Check!

Thanks to David's Bridal we have the Bride's dress and Bridesmaid dresses picked out and in the file.

All the girls are wearing black dresses with black heels and a blue-ish hair piece. Probably flowers but we're still looking. Tomorrow in fact. [If you have suggestions leave a comment!] 

Flowers are being decided, we were going to go with Hydrangeas but I hear they're a real pain to keep alive long enough for the event. @ one friends wedding, they wilted within 10 minutes of being out of water. Eh. We'll skip these pretty beauties for now.


The sis wants there to be alot of different kinds of white flowers. I love the idea.

New Seg=My Baby Sister's Wedding

3 of 6 kids, all about to be married within two years of each other. Lucky parents.

My sister and I have dreamed about our weddings since we were very young girls. When she was 8 and I was 10, we made our own wedding books filled with our favorite flowers, poofy dresses, blingin' rings, and dinner menus.

We always knew we'd be in each other's wedding no matter what. My sister and I have had some knarly hard times, but there is on thing that has kept us glued together and will always keep us together: My mother. She always encouraged us to make sure we're in each other's lives, encouraging, giving advice, give rides, and lots of hugs :) That's what family is for...no matter what.

She was my Maid of Honor and I am honored to be hers.

Most people have sisters they are close with, whether it's a blood relative or a best friend doesn't matter. She's the person you call when you're having a breakdown. The person you call when you're stranded at the mall. The person you cry to when you and your boyfriend break up. The person you steal clothes from on a daily basis. The person you get mad at when shows up wearing your new sweater. The person who will defend you, even though she knows you're wrong. The person who will bring you chocolate ice cream when you've had a bad day.

She's your sister and you're hers.

I think that bond is so special and uncompromisable. It was once said that "you can fool the whole world, but never your sister." She knows you in and out, sometimes even more than your own parents. I know that's true of us.

Having her help me plan my wedding was a dream come true. And I hope I can be the same for her. We'll finally get to put those books to use :)

All that to say, we're starting a new segment on the blog titled "My Sister's Wedding". :) We'll both write [she's a phenomenal writer too!] and post pictures and wedding ideas for your professional [and non-professional] feedback :)

So to set the stage, the theme of the wedding is an Alice in Wonderland feel. Classy and fun.
