Rediscovering Your Creativity, Because It's Time

There is something inside of us that desire to create. Whether it's a life or a painting, the capacity may change but the desire never wavers. We create because we were created in the image of a Creator

Some, like myself, fear creativity and compare theirs to the latest fad or craze. My art journal doesn't look even remotely as good as hers. And then we quit. I'm not good at this. At the same time, there are other times when the fear of inadequacy paralyzes us from creating anything to compare in the first place. I know mines not gonna be good, so I'd rather watch TV.

I've been in both places and both were comfortable. It's easier to not create. It's easier to let other people do the work and stand back and admire. But I know speculation isn't fulfilling that part of me that was made for creativity. I know admiration isn't quenching my soul's desire to make something beautiful of my own story, my own thoughts and my own dreams.

Do you feel that too?

I think it's time we dust off that guitar that's been idle in the back corner of the closet.
I think it's time we rinse off those water color brushes and buy a new paint pack.
I think it's time we continued that journal we stopped writing in years ago.
I think it's time we began designing those buildings we dreamed would stretch out across the big city.
I think it's time we drove to the grocery store, picked up some ingredients, and made that dish we've been putting off trying.
I think it's time we rethreaded that sewing machine and finished the project we started years ago.
I think it's time we _____________________________________.

Let's make something. And while we do it, remember the beauty does not lie solely in the finished product, but in the process and the accomplishment of Creating
